First Responders
First Responders, including Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), Police, Firefighters, Paramedics, rescue workers and other similar employees who perform job duties that prevent, control or extinguish fires; rescue crime, accident, or fire victims; respond and pursue suspects or criminals; and other similar work are entitled to overtime pay. These workers are not “exempt” even if the employer pays them a “salary.”
